“You know, I didn’t realize when I did the Buddha collection that it would be loved by so many people. I guess the message was really good.” That is from the designer, looking back on her 1997 spring collection. And I can see why it resonated- Kuan Yin is the Buddhist goddess of compassion and manifests whenever there is someone who needs her.
The 1997 Vivienne Tam collection was spectacular and we are so lucky to have this donation. Mesh top in the best neutrals that will peek out under leather jacket or blazer with jeans (that's what I'd do). There are noticeable flaws on the the left arm and right shoulder which looks like red nail polish or paint-yikes I know-but it really is not that noticeable with all that Buddha going on, and when it is worn with an actual arm in the sleeve. Good vintage condition.
