Our Team

Three women sitting on stairs, the founders of Second Serve.

Team Second Serve is run by volunteers. So far there are three of us:

Amy Hebb, Founder, Attorney at Large and often Susan’s tennis partner. I am a mom to all my people and my dog Chowder. I am a Rhode Islander, which means the Red Sox, Matunuck Oyster Bar and Deer Tick. My fashion soft spot is vintage Lacoste and a proper track jacket. I’m currently working on my first serve, because, not for nothing, the more free points the better.

Susan Demovick, Treasurer. Susan is a “a lover of the earth, while sporting Tory Burch.” She is a realtor and mom to three kids and enjoys long walks with her dogs Gunner & Winnie. Favorite pastimes include tennis, gardening, baking and creating art with sea shells. In addition to Tory Burch, she has a soft spot for cocktail dresses and anything preppy. She is working on finding a year-round yacht rock station.

Patti Ghezzi, Board Chair. Patti is a Storyteller Activist and nonprofit consultant at Greater Good Communication, as well as the Communication and Development Human at El Refugio in Atlanta. She is a mom to her people and dogs, and to her community in general. She has a soft spot for the kaftan, although when we were in high school, it was pink tie-dyed overalls. She is currently dispensing sensible advice for the asking.

Kate Eady, Secretary. Kate is an artist and longtime art instructor at Ethical Culture Fieldston School in Manhattan. She is also the master of our sewing kits and brings her notion know-how to all our projects to make them special. A superfan of David Bowie and vegetal cocktails, Kate loves nesting with her daughter and cats Dipper and Gigi in Brooklyn. Having said all that, she wouldn’t mind beaming back to the “blue carpet area” of Radnor High school, just one more time.
